HELP FOR UKRAINE
At this time, the grievous situation in eastern Europe occupies much of our prayers, thoughts and conversations. You may have heard of many churches and community groups holding collections for clothing and supplies for the growing number of refugees. As commendable as these collections are, they do present a logistical and distribution challenge and the advice is that the best support can be offered through financial gifts. You will have heard of the millions raised so far through the appeal launched by the Disasters and Emergency Committee; supported by 20 national charities. Therefore, we shan't be promoting a collection of goods but instead urge you to consider giving to the DEC; their link is as follows:

Father, we pray for the situation in Ukraine. We pray for those living in fear that you may give them peace at this worrying time. Please be with families who have to leave their homes and in some cases leave loved ones behind.
Amen.
Loving God, We pray for the people of Ukraine, for all those suffering or afraid, that you will be close to them and protect them.
We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.
We pray for the world that in this moment of crisis, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need.
May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world.
Amen.
Holy and Gracious God
We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia; for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear. We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine.
And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen
